At Centennial Periodontics and Implants, our mission is to help prevent any serious dental problems that could arise. A bi-yearly visit to the dentist is one of the best ways to ensure that your teeth are remaining healthy. If there are any problems found at the check-ups, it is better to correct them early on. Our office is located in Centennial, Colorado, and we offer our services to all of our patients in the surrounding areas.
The Dental Cleaning Process
Our entire staff is held to the highest education and training standards. When you come into our office for a dental cleaning, you know that you will receive the best treatment available. Our patients are our number one priority and your treatment will be completely personalized.
Beginning each dental cleaning, you can expect an oral exam. These oral exams are quick and painless. Your dental hygienist checks each tooth for decay, cavities, and gingivitis. You can also expect x-rays to be taken to check on tooth alignment and overcrowding. The hygienist will explain what they found and your options going forward. If there are no big issues, the hygienist will offer some tips on how oral hygiene can be improved.
Following the exam, the professional dental will begin. The hygienist will begin by removing any plaque using an instrument called a scaler. The scaler looks like a small metal hook and is used to scrape off any plaque or hardened tartar on the tooth and near the gumline. Once all plaque is removed, a deep cleaning of the enamel of your teeth will begin. The deep cleaning will be done using a high powered brush that polishes each tooth. This should not cause any pain but should just feel like someone is brushing your teeth.
Following the polishing, a professional flossing will be given to you to remove any and all food between your teeth. We understand that it can be difficult to floss in the back molars of your teeth, but we can help you when you come in and give you tips on how to improve your flossing.
After each dental cleaning, you will feel like you’re leaving our office with a brand new smile. We want each of our patients to feel confident with their smile, and keeping up on oral hygiene is one of the best ways to do it. If you are new to Centennial, Colorado, or an existing resident, we invite you to come into our office, Centennial Periodontics and Implants, to receive a dental cleaning. The more we can do to prevent dental issues, the better off you and your smile will be. We can’t wait to serve you!
